Dr. Rosalyn Hayman, ND

Founder & Co-Director

After graduating from Mt Allison University with a B.Sc, Dr. Hayman earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.

Since 2005, her practice has focused on treating people of all ages for fatigue, gastrointestinal complaints and hormonal imbalances (PMS, thyroid, etc). Dr Hayman is passionate about enhancing couples' fertility, prenatal & postnatal care, breastfeeding support and infant health.

Dr Hayman performs Nutritional Live Blood Cell Analysis, a powerful tool that can detect immune status, iron deficiency, vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency. She is additionally certified in Nutritional IV therapy and Chelation, which are advanced treatments used for fatigue, immune boosting, and cancer.

Dr. Hayman believes in empowering her patients through education. A former varsity soccer player, she enjoys the outdoors with her dog and young family, and tasting her husband's culinary artistry.


Dr. Maggie Pattillo, ND

Co-Director

Dr. Maggie Pattillo obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Queen’s University and went on to achieve her doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. 

 In her general family practice Maggie educates and encourages patients to take control of their health and treat the underlying cause of their condition. She treats patients of all ages, with a special interest in digestive disturbances, hormonal imbalances, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and healthy weight loss.  Maggie’s specialized training includes nutritional IV therapy (an individualized treatment used in cancer, fatigue, and conditions with compromised intestinal absorption) and sports medicine. Her passion for nutrition, education, and exploring the effect that the mind has on the body’s physical state has helped many patients achieve their health goals.

 As a former member of the Canadian National Ski Team, Maggie has a personal interest in upholding an active lifestyle and strives to maintain balance by skiing, running, practicing yoga, and experimenting in the kitchen. 

 Maggie is thrilled to be a part of the team at Halifax Naturopathic!


Dr. Sarah Baillie, ND

Dr. Sarah Baillie is a licensed and board certified naturopathic doctor, practicing in Halifax since 1999. As past co-president of the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors, she was involved in laying the foundation for NDs in Nova Scotia to be regulated. Sarah's approach addresses all aspects of health - body, mind and spirit - using nutrition, botanical medicine, homeopathy and counseling. She has a special interest in the effects of stress on a person's wellbeing and a focus on perimenopausal and menopausal medicine. Sarah prides herself on her ability to listen. While taking the time to see the whole picture, she can recommend treatment plans that are both individualized and manageable.


Sarah Bing, R.Ac

Sarah received her Diploma in Acupuncture from Eastern College. Sarah is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is a part of the first graduating class trained in Halifax Nova Scotia. Sarah has a passion for helping clients obtain optimal health. She treats patients of all ages with special interest in stress, addictions, infertility, digestive issues, menopausal symptoms, muscular-skeletal pain, and mental emotional blockages and dietary therapy. Sarah also specializes in Acupuncture treatments with IVF.

Sarah is trained in the following TCM Modalities: Acupuncture, Cupping, Chinese dietary and lifestyle advice, Moxibustion, Gua Sha, Tui Na Massage, and Qi Gong.

Sarah also has an interest in helping patients keep their youthful glow. She is one of the few acupuncturists who is certified in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture "A Natural Alternative to Botox"

Sarah is passionate about acupuncture and in her spare time works on educating the public on the benefits that acupuncture can have on one’s life. Sarah offers FREE 15 minute acupuncture consultations for people wanting to know more about how acupuncture can benefit them.

Sarah strives to maintain a well-balanced life; she is active and enjoys participating in recreational sports. Sarah is excited to be part of the team at Halifax Naturopathic and enjoys working alongside naturopathic doctors!


Debra Holman, R.Ac

Debra was first exposed to the profound effects of Acupuncture treatment during her career as a Physiotherapist when she took part in continuing education Acupuncture training and began to use it as a tool in her practice. After graduating at the top of her class from Nova Scotia’s first ever acupuncture program offered at Eastern College 5 years ago, Debra now uses her training to educate and treat both clients and future Western Healthcare Professionals about the impact of this ancient, wondrous medicine. From minor aches and pains to multi-symptom disorders, from general fatigue to advanced mental health conditions, Debra uses Acupuncture to set you on the road to recovery and rebalance!




After 3 years of clinical practice in the Halifax and Dartmouth areas, Debra is excited to be joining the well-established team of health professionals at Halifax Naturopathic Health Centre. Her Western and Eastern medicine backgrounds allow her to offer her clients a holistic and alternative option to managing their health. Debra uses Acupuncture on its own or as an adjunct to other therapies to help her patients reach their health goals.




Debra lives in Halifax with her wife and daughter. She enjoys fitness, travelling and reading and learning about anything and everything health related.


Wendy McCallum, LLB, RHN

Wendy McCallum (Registered Holistic Nutritionist), followed her passion for real food by leaving her law career and returning to college to learn more about nutrition and food. She now helps individual and family clients reach their wellness and nutrition goals, in part by supporting them in the move from processed food to healthier, real food alternatives. Wendy's approach is realistic, non-judgmental and practical. She offers support in all areas, including: health & wellness support, weight loss, grocery store shopping, cooking lessons, recipes & meal planning, eating healthy on a budget, and picky eater strategies. Nicole Hynes

Nicole joined the team at Halifax Naturopathic in June 2011. Nicole grew up in beautiful Cape Breton and graduated with honors from the Cape Breton Business College with a Professional Secretarial Diploma. She has served many years as an Office Administrator in the health care field where she has gained valuable knowledge and experience providing administrative support and assisting with providing quality patient care through her compassion, warmth, and positive attitude.

She has a developed a genuine interest in natural approaches to health care after experiencing the benefits of natural therapies first-hand.

In her spare time Nicole enjoys time spent in the great outdoors, staying fit, volunteering and supporting several Animal Rescue Foundations. At home her quiet time is spent experimenting in the kitchen, reading and relaxing with her Orange Tabby Cat, Lily.


Sonja Nelson

Sonja graduated from mount Saint Vincent University with a degree in history in 2005. She worked in the dental and medical insurance field before taking a few years off to have a family. Sonja is excited to return to the medical field and is enjoying learning about a natural approach to medicine. When at home Sonja enjoys being kept busy by her three children.
